How the Records Paths Work
Armstrong County records sit with different custodians. The Armstrong County Jail operates the official Inmate Inquiry for a current-custody lead, although its public form does not establish that a booking photograph will appear. The court record after booking is separate and is available through Pennsylvania UJS Case Search. For a person who later enters state custody, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections locator is the appropriate status search, not a substitute for a county booking file.
When a record is not published, the county Right to Know process can help identify the correct office and request an existing record. Pennsylvania law does not make every booking photograph automatically available. This resource gathers those official starting points and explains the limits that apply to them.
What the Resource Includes
The content is organized around the practical distinction between a recent arrest, current jail custody, a court disposition, and state or federal custody.
- The home page explains how to use official Armstrong County custody, court, and public-record channels.
- It distinguishes the county jail inquiry from Pennsylvania DOC, Bureau of Prisons, and ICE custody locators.
- It identifies the county RTK form and the limits that CHRIA and current Pennsylvania law can place on a booking-photo request.
- The city pages describe the local police and county-custody paths for Kittanning, Ford City, and Leechburg.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It is not connected to Armstrong County, the sheriff, the jail, the courts, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, or any other government office. We cannot release or hold a person, arrange bond, schedule visits, obtain official documents, or give legal advice.
- We cannot confirm a person’s current custody, release, charges, or court outcome.
- We cannot make a government office create, change, or disclose a record.
- We cannot promise that a telephone number, fee, procedure, or web portal remains unchanged.
Booking information records an accusation and a custody event, not a finding of guilt. Charges and court outcomes can change, so an official record should be checked for the current status.
